Replace Active Cabinet Components
This page describes how to replace active cabinet components.
Select the Replace Active Cabinet Components option from the infrastructure section.
Replacing an active cabinet components deletes the selected component and creates a new component of your choice in its place.
You can allocate the old component port connections to be inherited by the new component ports.
You can replace an active cabinet component by selecting the Replace Active Cabinet Component from the Infrastructure section or directly from within the cabinet view.
Right click on a mounted component and select Replace from the context menu. A new window will open to help you replace the mounted components with another component from the local catalog.
Note: If you are replacing the same component with a newer version. Please change the component definition name of the old component to be able to import the new version. You can not import a component definition if there is one already existing in the local catalog with the same name.
In the Replace Active Cabinet Components windows, fill in the information for the component to be replaced and information on the new component you want the old component to be replace with.
If the slots and ports are similar between the two components, connected ports will automatically be set to be inherited by the new component.
If the new component does not have the required ports or slot module available for a specific connection, the connections will not be inherited by the new component.
Ports that can be passed on are marked in green.
Ports that can not be passed on are marked in orange.
Ports that have no cable connections are unmarked.
