This pages describes how to design your component definition in Pathfinder.

Select the square icon at the bottom of the component definition properties dialog window.

You can design your component by adding ports and slots.

The design icon (1) opens the component design dialog window.

Here you can add ports and slots to your component (2). You can edit the ports and slots and you can arrange the layout.

You can organize the ports and slots with the alignment buttons here (3).

You can use the component designer to define what your component definition will look like; e.g. you can position ports and slots according to the real appearance of your component.  

To design your component please take the following steps:

  • Navigate to the component definition in the catalog and open it by double clicking.
  • Open the Designer tab (1) and click on the icon at the bottom (2).
  • The component designer will open in a new window (3).
  • Position ports or slots by drag&drop. You can make further changes (e.g. turns) to each element via the context menu (right click).
  • Align features conveniently with the "alignment" window (4).
  • Click Apply to save your changes (5).
