This page describes network path overview in Pathfinder.

The edit network provides a graphical and grid view of your network as well as tabs to view attached documents and change history.

Network Path Graphical view

The graphical network path overview describes the network path based on components and ports as well as their respective cable connections.

(1) Component information.
(2) Port information.
(3) Cable information.

You can right click on any of the components, ports or cables to open its corresponding context menu.

The context menu provides the following options:

Display port overview: Opens the Port Search dialog window. For information about port overview, go to: Port Search.

Display is cabinet: Positions you to the cabinet port in your active network.

Display component information:

Component/Cable/Port properties: Opens the respective properties dialog window. You can view and edit the properties here.

External applications: Provides options for more functions in pathfinder. For more information, go to: Manage External Tools.

You can also print your network path information here (4).


Network Path Grid View

The grid view provides the network path overview in a tabular format. You can use the asterixis icon to organize the column headers.

You can print your network path here from the context menu or from here (1). You can choose to include the network path properties as well as the legends. Select your printing preferences and click on OK to print your network path information.


Print Network Path

The printed network path contains detailed information about your selected network path.

The name, number and state are as assigned in the Manage Network Path Instances dialog window (1).

The information is presented as the component and its position in the racks first, followed by information about the port connection on the opposite face and any tags (2).

Information about the source port, connection cable and destination port is found here (3). The image shows the port highlighted in red as well as the back or front side of the components in the network path (4).

Access the network path via a port's context menu (Show network path...).

It provides a clear overview over all connections going out of this port.
