Port Information and Cable Color
This pages describes the predefined port hints, state colors and color codes for individual cable definitions in Pathfinder.
You can find the color field of a cable in the cable definition properties for that cable instance.
Cable colors are cable definition specific. Changes made are executed amongst all instances of that definition.

Port Hints
Â
Â
In the components view or also known as cabinet front view, you can hover over a port to view information about that port.
Â
The port hint describes port relevant information such as ID, name and number as well as port type and port qualities.
The port hint also provides information about the port status (both front and back for patch panels). The port status is also reflected by the port color.
Finally, the port hint provides the network path of the cable if connected.
Port State Color
Â
Â
Based on the unique port connection state of ports, different color codes will be indicated on them. The port states in the front have no influence on the port state on the back and must be defined individually as required.
The port state connection based color code is as follows when observing from the front side:
1: Only the opposite side is connected.
2: The port is defective.
3: The port is idle.
4: The port is reserved for a connection.
5: The front port is connected.
6: Both the front and back ports are connected with a installation and patch cable respectively.
7: The port is disabled.
Â
The port state colors apply to all types of ports in Pathfinder.
