The basis for exact documentation of the location of network devices are room plans, where the user can insert data outlets, port numbers or devices like printers and PCs. Detailled room displays of IT and server rooms are also very important for a complete network documentation.
Pathfinder supports you when creating room plans. Based on any floor plan, you can define a room segment with a few clicks and Pathfinder will automatically generate a room plan for the selected area. Afterwards you can display network devices and line connections in relation to their room.
First enter a floor plan and select Room limit active in the context menu (right click). Now save these settings (lower left corner) and then switch to the design mode.
After selecting a room stamp, Pathfinder will generate an adaptable room segment, which can be customized. Use the mouse to fit the segment to the chosen room.
You can relocate the room segment by relocating the room stamp using drag&drop.
Additional waypoints can be added via right click, to depict more complex shapes.
Once you are done click on Save. Double click the room stamp to enter the room.
You can easily switch between two rooms by double clicking another room stamp.
