Access this function in the System section on the Dashboard to create and edit naming rules.

In Pathfinder naming rules can be created for all objects, e.g. ports and cables.

First all existing naming rules are displayed. You can add, delete or im-/export naming rules (1).

You can also (de-)activate existing naming rules (2)

To edit a naming rule, select it and click Next.

Enter name and description, and define, which object types the rule shall be applied to. It is possible to create multiple rules for a single object type.

Click Next to continue.

In the third step rule elements and their properties can be managed.

All existing rule elements are displayed on the left, use the drop-down-menu (4) to define, what kind of element it is. You can also add or remove elements (3).

The properties of the selected element are displayed and can be edited on the right.

At the bottom you will find a preview of the names generated by that naming rule.

Click Finish to save your changes.
